‘Twas the fortnight before Christmas
“Overthink it?!…I don’t have the headspace to overthink it!” she laughed as I asked her to leave her recruitment to me.
Shumaila, a Deputy Headteacher asked me to help her recruit a Data and Exams Manager for her high profile, data driven school.
Having been through a failed round of recruitment on TES, she was disappointed with the applicants she’d met – they just didn’t get it!
And with the days ticking down until her current Data and Exams Manager was due to leave, she was worried this’d be one of those nightmare roles that lingers on for months.
As a committed Deputy she was already stretched and knew that without a Data Manager in place, she’d end up picking up the slack.
I helped Shumaila to appoint in just two weeks. She had a fully attended interview (5 candidates).
The experienced Data specialist she offered is starting in January.
And he’s coming in to school for a full handover with the current Data and Exams Manager.
This is how we made that happen:
Found the top 3 things Shumaila was looking for in her new Data Manager.
Agreed an interview date before we even posted the job ad.
Had a back up list of candidates to backfill slots when we had cancellations.
With two weeks left, you still have time to appoint permanently before the Christmas break—no need to rely on expensive, mediocre temp cover.
You’ll begin 2025 with a full team, and a more manageable diary.
And if your next fortnight is jam-packed, leaving you with no time (or energy) to make those appointments, that’s where I step in.
I’ll handle all the stress and workload, so you can start your Christmas break feeling fantastic and fulfilled—rather than frazzled.
